Job Summary:
A Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and conducting routine maintenance on vehicles. A sucessful candidate should have strong technical skills, knowledge of automotive systems, and the ability to work with computerized diagnositics.

Compensation:
Employees in this position will be paid a base hourly wage at the applicable double minimum wage rate ($32.60), plus commissions. Commission amounts vary based on performance, but the expected average annual earnings are approx. $67,808 to $130,000. The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum pay range expected for this role. Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.

Responsibilities:
- Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
- Examining vehicles to determine wear and extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Assisting the shop foreman/lead technician as well as assisting technicians with their skills, providing technical support when needed and monitoring performance and productivity.
- Testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
- Ensuring that the shop is in excellent condition with regard to cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition, and conducting periodic spot checks to maintain high-quality service.
- Test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.

Experience/Education:
- A minimum of 3 years of Honda experience is required. Level 1-3 is highly preferred.
- Smog license is helpful but not required.
- Successful completion of an automotive training program in a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)-certified high school or community college as the best preparation for service technicians. Professional certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to read work orders.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
