KFI is looking for a motivated leader with an engineering mindset to become the

technical expert on our new PTI Extruder being installed this Spring! This person

would learn the machine inside and out, contribute to process creation and

continuous improvement, and help train and supervise the day to day operations. 



Maintains production output within the assigned work area. Using direction provided by

the Shift Supervisor, ensures an adequate flow of raw materials to each production line

and proper flow of finished goods from each production line. Works to ensure quantity,

quality, safety, housekeeping, and cost objectives are met. Assists in the running of all

equipment and perform associated quality testing. Will be expected to learn how to

operate all production lines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operates qualified production equipment in assigned work area 
  • Ensures adequate flow of raw materials to each production line & timely removal and staging of finished goods 
  • Stages raw materials where required in a timely manner. This includes transporting raw materials into and from storage units, mobile storage units, gaylords, totes, pallets, etc.  
  • Packaged all finished goods per the packaging standards and instructions  
  • Troubleshoots effectively using available resources  
  • Performs prototyping and trial runs as requested  
  • Assists with training other personnel on their job requirements   
  • Inspects or performs quality testing (measuring, sizing, gauging, etc.) as required per inspection plans and quality standards 
  • Monitors quality of sheet to ensure they meet specifications   
  • Assists in writing procedures for training and compliance reasons  
  • Responsible for the operation of some ancillary and auxiliary equipment related to the production of finished goods and the destruction of non-conforming finished goods 
  • Performs other functions in assigned area as needed to include, but not limited to – Material Handling, Packing, and Warehouse  
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department and the Corporation; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities  
  • Complies with all safety regulations and applies good judgment in performing all tasks; maintains working area cleanliness    
  • Communicates with the shift supervisor all appropriate concerns related to working conditions, safety, injuries, and interpersonal conflicts 
  • Performs all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures
