Title:                            Technician – QA Specifications

Reports To:                 QA Supervisor – Specifications & Change Control

Department:               Quality Assurance

Supervises:                 N/A

Organizational Relationships:

Contact with quality control, incoming component lab, operational departments and occasional customer contact.

Basic Function:

Issue Filling & Assembly specifications and Inspection Criteria specifications for finished products. Update existing documents as required.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Convert customer/vendor specifications to kdc/one Port Jervis format.
  2. Update existing specifications and make revisions.
  3. Filing/maintenance of completed specifications / documentation.
  4. Maintain familiarity with production floor and processes.
  5. Maintains awareness and compliance with safety regulations in performing job duties.
  6. Customer interaction to review/question specifications.
  7. Conducts new project reviews with appropriate department personnel.
  8. QA coverage on any new line startups for compliance to specifications.
  9. Work with QC Operation Inspectors on issues/changes with the specs.
  10. Work with Process Engineering – interpret line trial information to set up specs.
  11. Review customer portals where relevant for revised specifications.
  12. Set standard startup pieces and general appearance standards for the operation floor.
  13. Put away daily retains received from the production floor.
  14. Any other special projects and duties at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Able to read, understand, and follow written instruction.
  2. Good computer and writing skills.
  3. Effective communication skills - internal and customer contact re specification development or resolution of specification concern.
  4. High School Diploma, some College desirable.  A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  5. Effective basic computer skills.
  6. A minimum of one year of experience in cosmetic or pharmaceutical inspection process.
