The Accounting team in our National Support Center (NSC) is looking for a Director of Accounting at their Lafayette Hill, PA office. 

 

Job Summary

The Director of Accounting will support the Controller and CFO in developing and managing all accounting related practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will be responsible for partnering with field leadership, other support departments, and outside providers to ensure compliance with financial procedures, accountability and control of the Company’s financial resources. As part of these responsibilities, the Director of Accounting will evaluate and recommend appropriate improvements to the Company’s accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring that practices and controls are functioning as intended and are in line with the overall goals of the organization. 

 

Job Duties

·       Lead and develop a cohesive, professional team in accounting, financial reporting, inventory management, cash management and system initiatives.
·       Provide active leadership & participation in SAP and other multi-year, financial system implementations.
·       Review reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts every month, escalating all continuing or material reconciling items/issues to the Controller on a timely basis.
·       Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall effectiveness of the finance & accounting operations and organization.
·       Manage an accurate and timely closing process (monthly, quarterly and year-end, consolidated and US results) including consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
·       Maintain technical accounting expertise and ensuring all new GAAP issues are identified, reviewed with the Controller and CFO, documented in memo/policy/procedure format, and reviewed with external auditors for approval and sign-off prior to the annual audit process. 
·       Manage relationships with external auditors for the annual audit process of both the financial statements and retirement benefit plans, including timely preparation of workpapers and draft financial statements and responsiveness to auditor requests.
·       Ensure the timely accumulation of financial information from all Hajoca subsidiaries in order to analyze financial data prior the creation of the monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly bank covenants.
·       Participate in financial due diligence in acquisitions, as well as lead the purchase accounting process and true-up.
·       Provide outstanding service to all customers:
o   Develop, implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for service & value.
o   Proactively resolve issues for Profit Center Managers and field leaders.
o   Create training materials & resources for support personnel, field profit center managers, and accounting teams.
·       Being an advocate within the team and the National Support Center of Hajoca’s decentralized model, culture and values.
·       Assist with special projects and other duties, as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·       Strong technical GAAP knowledge aligned to business operations
·       Acquisition experience: due diligence, purchase accounting & integrations
·       Extremely well organized and detail-oriented
·       Strong working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel, and data management
·       Excellent verbal & written communication and research skills
·       Ability to make presentations and teach/train others new processes and procedures
·       Adaptable in a frequently-changing, fast-paced environment

 

Education, Training, Experience

·       10+ years business experience
·       Leadership of teams and cross functional initiatives
·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
·       National (Big 4 or other) audit firm experience or experience in distribution/manufacturing
·       Experience in companies with greater than $3b in revenue
·       SAP S4/Hana experience is strongly preferred

 

Physical Demands

Domestic US travel up to 10% of the time may be necessary
