Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.


This Energy Market Analyst position will provide assistance in the ERCOT Day Ahead Market (DAM) and is responsible for Bid Instructions and a daily basis to match Plant Operations and may need to publish revised Bid Instructions in the event of a Plant upset. This position will also be responsible for continuous monitoring of the EDF SCADA system and ERCOT grid conditions during 4CP months for potential 4 CP times and send out warnings promptly so that the Plant may take corrective actions to preventing any 4 CP charges.  



The ideal candidate will have five years of experience in scheduling power in the ERCOT Market as a QSE or system operator.. This candidate will possess strong leadership skills. B.S. in Engineering is preferred.




  • Bachelor Degree. in Engineering preferably chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering a plus.  
  • Minimum of five years experience in scheduling power in the ERCOT Market as a QSE or system operator.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside of regular working schedule as required.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity
  • Must meet all safety requirements
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to handle and manage the stress associated with the position, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Must be able to travel to offsite locations or other business functions as needed (requirement to travel means having a valid driver’s license and being prepared to drive a motor vehicle and to fly with overnight stays required).
  • Must implement/educate/train and adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Must be able to collaborate by integrating and utilizing cross-functional Internal Contacts and External Contact resources to impact Department goals and results optimally.
