Position Summary

 

The ES & IBS (Engineered Systems and Integrated Blasting System) Engineering Project Manager role is responsible for properly organizing, coordinating and managing Company resources throughout the project lifecycle. The Engineering Project Manager role is accountable to ensure that project expectations regarding safety and quality, performance, scope, schedule, technology development, and application development initiatives from planning through delivery are met. The individual will be working hands-on with the international Engineering Team and cross-functional team to drive projects to a successful conclusion. The person works with end customers and ensures their satisfaction with the product. The position reports to the Senior Engineering Project Manager.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Planning

 

  • Support project sponsors in scope development – converting high-level consumer and business needs into functional requirements and measurable deliverables
  • Build plans to equal project need, with preparations that are neither more nor less than the risk or activity required
  • Identify potential project risks and pre-emptively develop strategies to mitigate and/or exploit such risks

 

Executing

 

  • Analyze system requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Direct and manage project to completion; while closely monitoring and controlling scope, quality, schedule, budget, resource, and risk
  • Generate regular project status updates and communications to stakeholders, ensuring that those who need to know are kept in the loop of what’s going on with the project. 
  • Escalate project problems and challenges, when necessary, in a professional way.
  • Interface with the Engineering team and the customer to update status and resolve technical issues.
  • Validate project system design
  • Provide engineering support for post-installation issues to key accounts
  • Adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Build and maintain project documentation and records. 
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of products to commercialization.
  • Drive and manage Quality Improvement programs for the projects.
  • Develop commercial proposals that include machine configurations and system layouts, cost and sales price calculations and more.

 

Position Requirements

 

Education & Experience

 

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of project management experience required. (3 years of experience desired)
  • Desired experience in CAD Solid Works/PDM, or similar,Document management system
  • Experience should include managing enterprise-wide projects – which have included internal and external team members across disciplines of accounting, engineering, information technology, marketing, manufacturing, sourcing and sales.
  • Basic understanding of Controls is desirable.

 

Skill Competencies

 

  • Strong leadership talent, and ability to work as a team with department leaders and international colleagues
  • Ability to work with multiple projects with varying levels of complexity, including occasional scope changes
  • Ability to manage dynamic situations during the project, including installation of the equipment at the customer site.
  • Strong knowledge in all phases of the project management life cycle. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office

Location: Loveland, Ohio, USA

Travel: Up to 50% Required. There could be periods of increased travel and customer interaction.
